BLUSH MODERN WEDDING DESIGN

We’ve been featured on Style Me Pretty!!! Today, we welcome you in to our Blush of Modern Romance Editorial where Modern meets Romance in a blush, green and gold color scheme!

INSPIRATION

This beautiful Editorial was a collaboration between myself and Lorin from Lorin Kelly Photography. The inspiration behind this design was driven by the desire to create a modern and trendy wedding day but still be romantic and ethereal! Our theme was inspired by a Spring garden with the color tones of blush and green sprigs growing outward in beauty, in a fresh and organic nature. We wanted to greet Spring with all of the anticipation, joy and open arms!

FLORAL DESIGN

The most stunning floral arrangements were created so uniquely by Krista from Not Just in Novels. Each arrangement was completely foam free, organic and whimsical. We wanted tones of blush paired with ivory and Spring green to create a spring floral dream. The overall floral design created a vibrant and exciting color palette that felt as if you were walking into a spring garden at home.

PAPER GOODS & CALLIGRAPHY

Our beautiful paper goods and stationery was created by Jacinta from Honest Type and inspired by a fine-art, whimsical feel with a romantic font. Our invitation suite was designed with a floral wreath in grey ink and featured on handmade paper with a deckled edge. Our calligraphy place card scrolls and table number were hand calligraphed in a beautiful gold ink and featuring the same fine-art, whimsical font on handmade paper with a deckled edge.

CEREMONY

Our ceremony backdrop was the well-lit windows and stairs of our beautiful space in Downtown Los Angeles. We had an asymmetrical and open floral backdrop with 4 arrangements all in varied heights and sizes. This design by Not Just in Novels was meant to create whimsy and elegance and featured a beautiful flow. It was minimal and organic but with a huge impact in beauty and romance! We then paired this look with ghost chairs from MTB Event Rentals.

RECEPTION

Our beautiful reception design featured our re-purposed ceremony flowers to bring a bit of elevation and romance into the overall setting while the tabletop elements combined the theme of both romance and modern minimalism. We added a gorgeous main centerpiece for the eyes to feast on while pairing it with a few bud vases to round out the space of this stunning table. Our place settings by Premiere Party Rents featured a matte ceramic tone in white and heather grey. The glassware chosen took on a modern tone with their shape while also proving to be quite elegant in flare. Our flatware was gold-toned to tie in our gold elements in the paper goods. Our gorgeous napkins were silk and hand-dyed in a blush hue by Silk & Willow to carry out the whimsy and blush romance theme. To complete this design, each place setting had a beautiful vellum menu with a deckled edge and a unique, bespoke “place card” that consisted of a French Macaron from Vanilla Bake Shop with hand calligraphy by Honest Type. This was the perfect way to welcome a guest to their seat and truly make them feel cherished, loved and valued. It created an experience like none other, that was both beautiful and delicious.

ATTIRE & BEAUTY

Our beautiful real couple, Billy & Gina were dressed to the nines for this Editorial! We featured two gorgeously stunning bridal gowns, custom fine jewelry rings and dainty, delicate bridal jewelry. Kylee Hudson Bridal created a perfect bridal beauty look to allow our Bride to look like a vision! We went with a natural beauty look, allowing our Bride’s true beauty to shine through. We paired this with a low and chic bun to add the modern and minimalist flair.

For our two featured gowns, we wanted our Bride to start off with something more playful and whimsical and then transition into a more formal and romantic gown for the black-tie affair for the reception. For our ceremony, we started our Bride off in a Chosen by One Day 2-piece, modern, figure hugging gown. The high waisted skirt featured a flare bottom and a gentle train, it was paired with a bonded georgette bandeau. We then added on the delicate shoulder Tulle Wrap by Chosen with a long tulle train. The overall effect was jaw dropping and allowed our Bride to enter with a statement.

Our reception look for our Bride was a Catherine Deane crepe fit and flare gown with a sweetheart neckline that was figure hugging in all the right ways! This created a more formal and sophisticated look while ensuring that our Bride could dance the night away!

For our Groom, we chose to keep his look clean and classic with a crisp, black, Michael Kors suit from Friar Tux. This classic look was perfect so as to not distract from our gorgeous Bride but also accentuating our couple duo when together.

CAKE & COCKTAIL HOUR DISPLAY

Our delicious, Spring-inspired menu consisted of signature cocktails, a happy hour display and many assorted desserts. Our happy hour display from Colette’s Catering featured refreshing cocktails of Blush Gimlet and Guava Passion Fruit with scrumptious charcuterie displayed in jewelry boxes and accompanied by a  Greenleaf Salad and a Gooseberry Tart. This created a warm, vibrant and welcoming space for happy hour. Our beautifully designed 3-tier cake by Vanilla Bake Shop was a yummy Passion Fruit Creme Cake. The design was modern and minimalistic with it’s white fondant and massive but beautiful bow that had an ombre blush hue at the ends.
